These days, it may not be inaccurate to say that plenty of investors are still unaware of the income-producing options available to them with royalty trusts. Trusts trade just like stocks, but they enjoy a special tax benefit — royalty trusts don’t get taxed at the corporate level.

Thus, they are able to distribute more money, through dividends, to investors. In many cases they totally out-pace what common stocks can offer — some of the higher paying royalty trusts dish out 10% to 15% annual dividends.
